An American Tale

lyrics

G C G
Met Martin in Nashville, made friends in Tupelo
D D7
Headed west to Winslow, through the desert to Barstow
G C G
Sang some songs on Sunset, then headed north of Bodega Bay

Living at Le Vineyard, but I couldn’t stay..

Dad came to San Fran, trailer in tow
High stakes in Reno, then off to Idaho
Spent time in that Salt Lake, then hit the pedal to the floor
Roaming in Wyoming as we built our rapport.

Headed East to Point Pleasant, where it all began
Ill annoy and oh hi oh, Pennsylvania farm stands
Finally hit NJ, 101.5
The Atlantic was calling after such a long drive..

Now I’m in Eastport, I finally found a home
Got wrecked on a sand bar, sailing all alone
Cast away in exile, On this island of the east,
“Golden days are speeding, each of them too brief”*
